Dr. Kristan Gutowski, (originally from Michigan), has lived in the DC Metro area since 1998. She is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Kristan completed her post doctoral internship at SouthPaws Veterinary Specialist and Emergency Center in 1999. She has over 12 years experience in emergency, critical care, transfusion medicine, trauma and ventilator support. Kristan loves doing anything outside that involves her husband, kids and dogs. She has two rescue Dobermans; Captain and Flower. Captain is a proud universal blood donor and has helped save the lives of many local dogs in need. Kristan is the owner of the Herndon Animal Medical Center.

Dr. Amanda Higdon
Dr. Higdon is a 2008 graduate of The Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. In June of 2009 she completed an internship at Veterinary Referral Associates in Gaithersburg, Maryland where she received advanced training in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Radiology and Critical Care from Board Certified Specialists. Dr. Higdon joined Herndon Animal Medical Center in July of 2009. She lives with her husband, Chris and three cats Peaches, Lego, and Howie.
Dr. Janna Giaimuccio
Dr. Giaimuccio was raised in Texas and Kentucky before moving to Michigan, where she completed her schooling. She earned a BA in Biology from a small, liberal arts school named Albion College then graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She has practiced small animal medicine in Chicago, Baltimore and Northern Virginia while her husband pursued his career. They live with their two rescue dogs, Sam and Watson. In her free time she enjoys being active and outdoors, and she is a perpetual student in pottery. Her special interests include internal medicine, ophthalmology, and pain management.
